Common Ground is an American 2023 film.[1]. The movie profiles independent American farmers who are using regenerative agriculture[2] to restore soil health, grow healthier food and counteract global warming. The cast list includes Woody Harrelson, Laura Dern, Jason Momoa, Rosario Dawson, Donald Glover, Ian Somerhalder and more. At the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival, the film won the Human/Nature Award. Common Ground is a follow-up to the 2020 documentary Kiss The Ground.

At the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival, the film won the Human/Nature Award[3]. At the 2024 Environmental Media Association Awards, Laura Dean said, "Let’s place the American farmer who is fighting to change the system and bring us healthy, non-toxic food at the very center of our stories [4].” A June 2023 review on MovieWeb concluded by saying, “You get the sense while watching Common Ground that, like Leonardo DiCaprio’s The 11th Hour and Before the Flood — and even Al Gore’s groundbreaking doc, An Inconvenient Truth — that time is running out. In that respect, Common Ground is vital viewing.”[5]

Both films were produced in partnership by Kiss the Ground—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in L.A.—and Big Picture Ranch, located in Ventura County, California.

The Sierra Club Magazine wrote, "maybe this new documentary will do for soil what ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ did for climate change” [6]. Numerous film festivals throughout the United States are screening the documentary, including the Sarasota Film Festival[7] and Green Living [8]
