The Council of the autonomous Province of Trento is the provincial council (German: Trentiner Landtag; Italian: Consiglio della Provincia autonoma di Trento; Ladin: Cunsëi dla Provinzia autonoma de Trent) of Trentino, in the northeast of Italy. The Council exercises the legislative function and has the duty of controlling over the goverment of the autonomous Province of Trento in the exercise of its powers.[6]
The Council consists of 35 councillors (34 plus the president of the province), of which one is elected by the Ladin minority. The councillors are also at the same time members of the Trentino-South Tyrol Regional Council, which exercises considerably fewer duties (most of the duties are in fact exercised by the two autonomous provinces that make up the region).
The Council participates in the Dreier Landtag together with the Council of the autonomous Province of Bolzano and the Landtag of Tyrol.[7]
The head office is located at Palazzo Trentini, in Via Manci in Trento, but session are held in the Council Chamber inside the Palazzo della Regione in Piazza Dante.[8]
