editBefore the release of Amaran in early 2024, it was reported that Rajkumar Periasamy was in discussion with Dhanush for a potential collaboration. The production was reported to commence after the actor completes his commitments for Sekhar Kammula's Kubera.[1] The project would reportedly be funded by G. N. Anbu Chezhiyan's Gopuram Films, which funded Dhanush's Thanga Magan (2015).[2][3] The company made a public announcement on 8 November 2024, confirming the project.[4]
Filming
editPrincipal photography commenced with an inaugural puja ceremony with the film's cast and crew at the production house's headquarters in Chennai.[5]
