Danilo Smiljković (Serbian Cyrillic: Данило Смиљковић) was a Macedonian Serbian freedom-fighter during the Macedonian Struggle, that is, Old Serbia and North Macedonia.
Biography
editLittle is known about him, except that he was born in the village of Cerevo near Preševo and that he joined the Serbian Chetnik Organization and was trained and armed by the mountain staff headquarters before participating in numerous conflicts with the Turkish Army, their Albanian Kachaksupporters, and the ever-impending threats of VMRO propaganda and Bulgarian Exarchate proselytizers.
Danilo Smiljković is one of many Serbian Macedonians credited by the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia for liberating Serbian-populated regions of Old Serbia and North Macedonia.
