In 2008 Darren Stratti was shot and killed protecting five women from robbers in Tanzania.[1] He was in Tanzania building a children's village for the Australian charity FoodWaterShelter along with his partner Rebecka Delforce. [2]

Darren was also a musician and had performed around Sydney with his two brother's Jason and Daniel. They recorded an Album 'Being Human' that was released in 2004.[3]

Darren Stratti's two sons Robert and Daniel had both spent time living and working with his father in the months before Darren was shot[4]. Robert Stratti is a builder in Sydney Australia. Robert was awarded the 2023 'Young Builder of The Year' by the Master Builders Association NSW. [5] [6]
