Databrawl is a computer-themed PVP game (or "experience") created by Slam Dunc Studios on the all-ages creative platform known as Roblox. It was created on September 28th of 2017, and is regularly updated by the users DuncanDunclub[1] and Saezi. In addition to its main PVP version, it also has a roleplaying version,[2] along with other subgames.
Concept
editDatabrawl is based off a computer system - there are 4 teams: Malware, Virus, Program and Firewall Security. The goal of the Malware and Viruses is to destroy the Programs and the opposing team. The Firewall Security's job is to protect the Programs. They cannot harm Programs.
Classes
editThere are four different classes in Databrawl.
Malware
editMalware is one of the two "Evil" classes. They are one of the main threats to Programs and Firewall Security. They are able to break glass with their weapons. They have blue outlines and are more cubic and rectangle shaped.
Despite both being on the evil team, Malware and Viruses commonly fight each other.
Virus
editVirus is the other "Evil" class. They are one of the main threats to Programs and Firewall Security. They are able to break glass with their weapons. They have pink outlines and are more trianglular and cone shaped.
Despite both being on the evil team, Viruses and Malware commonly fight each other.
Both share the same weapons, however with different designs.[3]
Programs and Firewall Security
editPrograms are one of the two classes in the "Good" team. They have green outlines, are more spherical and oval shaped, and are the main target of Malware and Viruses, but they can interact with the map (except for window breaking) and help firewalls.
Firewall Security is the other class in the "Good" team. They are teamed with the Programs and attacks the corruptions, they also balance out the weakness of Programs by being the strongest team in the game, but are the only team unable to use special tokens. They have red outlines and irregular and mechanical shape.
Gamepasses and Mechanics
editVIP gamepass
editFirewall Security: Advanced Firewall Security is part of the VIP gamepass, and upgrades Firewall Security, giving them cosmetic attachments and more HP![4]
Programs: Extra 10 hp and food during spawn.
Malware/Virus: Becomes “advanced” and has armor, granting an extra 10 hp and food during spawn.
Hexadecimal Editor
editAllows user to change the color of their character.
MP3 Player
editAllows user to play songs from a hovering part behind them by inputting a song ID into it.
Brawler Booster
editGives the player an increased chance of becoming a brawler over a standard.
Mines
editMines spawn around the map. They can be picked up and thrown by Malware and Viruses. When thrown they will explode after a short time, dealing damage (300 at the epicenter, meaning only CIH, Happy99 and Bodiers [Bloatware included] can survive a direct blast.) and knocking back everyone in range. Bigger characters are immune to mine knockback. Happy99 are able to collect these for ammo for one of its attacks.
Special Tokens
editOccasionally, a Special Token will appear on the map. A message will show up on the player's screen (if they have VIP) when a Special Token spawns. Touching a Special Token will transform you into a random Special Class. Due to being the strongest class in the game, Firewall Security do not have any special characters.
Special Characters
editThe Corruptions have 9 Special Characters while Programs have 6.
CORRUPTION SPECIALS:
Scareware - Has a Spear called the Scare Spear, and can use its "Shadowfy" ability to become invisible. Scareware can also use a Scream ability to temporarily weaken targets. This does not work on Edgygrams or Hardware however.
Spyware - Can fully cloak (and gives a 1.5 times speed boost) and has a buffed knife called the Spy Knife. It can also disguise itself as a Base character (Program, Firewall Security, Malware, Virus). Spyware is based off Spy from TF2.
CIH - The lesser tank of corruptions. It has 325 HP and has high damage and a stone toss ability. However, it's slow and cannot jump. It has little to no autoheal, and is very vulnerable to being swarmed.
Espacio - A Pac-Man like corruption with a pickaxe to attack enemies with, and a power pellet ability that throws a pellet that damages and slows anyone around it. Throwing it down makes it explode automatically.
Happy99 - Happy99 is a tank-type character, which has the ability to shoot multiple projectiles, speed up with rapid damage fists, and shoot 6, 2, or 1 bomb(s) depending on how many mines the happy99 has collected.[5]
Gruel - Have the ability "Soup Pulse", which can heal any nearby allies when the Soup Gauge is full. Be aware that if damaged, some soup will drop out of the gauge, so be cautious. However, eating Program Hearts increases the meter's fullness by about a quarter. Gruel has 125 HP. Since the 3rd anniversary event, V-Sign has been replaced with Gruel.
Ransomware - Ransomwares's main ability is "Steal". When used, it will steal any edible items or mines from the target, the move will still do damage even if the opponent does not have any edible items. This also gives a brief speed boost. It also has a crowbar, which is used as a melee weapon.
Bodier - The strongest Special Character in the game (if we're going by mere stats). Pretty much the greater tank of Corruptions, having 1000 HP, resistance to mine knockback, and the ability to kill a standard character in 2 hits. They can fling characters by either punching or using its super smash, it's easy to see why they are so powerful. They come in both Virus and Malware variants, and as a trade-off for their enormous strength, they are very slow and have horrible healing, requiring support classes (most effective are Spawners) to become truly scary.
PROGRAM SPECIALS:
Hardware - Has an enormous sword that deals major damage, and is able to slam the ground if a cooldown is fulfilled. Has 300 HP, cannot be scared by Scareware, and has little to no healing. Unlike other characters when killed, Hardware breaks and falls onto the ground with a metal clanking noise, instead of bursting into particles.
Software - Has quick fists and is pretty fast. It can spawn food and throw a Jelly Dotanut at enemies that deals medium damage and can heal allies. Software has 100 HP.
Princess RAM - Has fists to hit enemies with and parry attacks. Can also spawn a bubble shield that heals allies, deflects projectiles, and stops enemies from getting through. This shield can be popped by attacking it. RAM has 150 HP.
Prince ROM - Carries a large sword that deals moderate damage. Can summon an aura around them that buffs and heals allies. ROM has 175 HP.
Bloatware - A really fat program that spawns food randomly (although it cannot eat). It can fling enemies with its Flubber Clubbers, and can do a "Bloat Stampede", which causes it to spin forward, damaging and flinging anything in the way. If it hits a wall while doing this, it will do damage to any enemy nearby, however it will damage itself too. Has a chance to spawn Super Food, which comes in golden bags and heals 50 HP. Bloatware has 875 HP.
Edgygram - A red program with an eerie smile and a Kitchen Knife. has 150 HP and a slightly slow speed. As Edgygram takes damage, its attack speed and walkspeed increase at the cost of slightly weaker attacks.
Cookie - A short nybble like program with a rolling pin to attack with and a slingshot that stuns enemies. Cookie has 130 HP.
Rules
editThere are strictly enforced rules in Databrawl - no friendly behavior with enemy teams. No sitting around on your team. No swearing, no hacking/exploiting, and no exploiting glitches.
There is a game specifically made for roleplaying, named Databrawl Roleplay. It can be found here.
As of 4/11/2023, Battle will no longer receive major updates besides holiday updates, and a newer databrawl version will be worked on as a separate game.
As Duncan states: "We understand there’s concerns in regards to Battle’s lack of content updates, you were not ignored when the game was reverted back from April Fools. I wanted to address this and say there will not be any future content updates for Battle outside of Holiday Events. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be bug fixes, as there’s still something I need to repair. Not only that, but it also doesn’t mean that Databrawl is dead going forward. As implied in previous announcements, we have plans for future installments for DB, including a new approach to the Battle formula. While current Battle won’t get any true updates from now on, the battle isn’t over. Stay tuned."
