David Simukonda (born 10 August 2005) is a Zambian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Egyptian Premier League club Ceramica Cleopatra and the Zambia national team.[1]
Club career
[edit]ZESCO United
[edit]Simukonda began his professional football development in Zambia, graduating from the youth academy of ZESCO United. He made his senior debut in the Zambian Super League and represented ZESCO in domestic cup fixtures and continental CAF Confederation Cup qualifying rounds.[2]
Ceramica Cleopatra
[edit]On 13 January 2026, Simukonda completed a transfer to Egyptian Premier League side Ceramica Cleopatra, signing a long-term contract running through June 2030.[3]
International career
[edit]Simukonda represented the Zambia U20 team during youth continental tournaments before receiving his senior call-up.
He made his senior international debut for the Zambia national team in 2025. He was included in Zambia's final squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, making appearances in group-stage fixtures against Mali and Comoros.
