Davide Lombardi (Italy, 1982), is an award winning live sound engineer for Mo Andrea Bocelli, Simply Red (18), Duran Duran, Gary Barlow(6), Bryan Ferry, Will Young (15) Kate Bush (16), Dido(7), Beck, Roxy Music, Tom Jones, Regina Spektor, Thurston Moore, Sunny Day Real Estate, Judith Owen, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran

Early Life:

He firstly started his work at college time, during school breaks, and by the age of 18, he was already on tour with italian Artists.

At the age of 21, driven by his passion of music and sound engineering, he moved to London, United Kingdom, where he further expanded his technical skills collaborating with Britannia Row.

Career:

Throughout his career, Davide Lombardi has been involved in various projects that blend different musical genres and traditions. Some of his notable collaborations include projects like:

Andrea Bocelli:

currently he leads audio production for public live events Worldwide, including his latest stadiums tour in Brazil (19)., as well as Taormina, Sicily (25). Lombardi works every single aspect of audio with local suppliers. From seating plan to sound design, choices of microphones include DPA for orchestra and Schoeps for vocals and Shure for wireless system, as well as the use of DiGiCo brand new mixing desks Quantum 852 with L-Acoustics K series. Kate Bush:

Before the Dawn was a concert residency Kate Bush in 2014 at the Hammersmith Apollo in London. The residency consisted of 22 dates, attended by almost 80,000 people. (22) A live recording of the same name was released in physical and digital formats in November 2016. (16) (24)

Roxy Music:

In March 2022, Roxy Music would be touring for the first time since 2011 celebrating Roxy Music's 50th anniversary. The tour took place in September and October 2022, across Canada, United States and United Kingdom.[70] (5)For this project, Davide used a Solid State Logic L500 Plus. His outboard rack gear included a TC Electronic M6000; TC Electronic D2 controlled via MIDI from the desk.

Simply Red:

Since 2019, Davide has been mixing live concerts to support Blue Eyed Soul (2019) and Time (2023) (13). Davide used Yamaha PM 5 and L-Acoustics K Series PA, controlled by Dolby Lake. During Jazz Open Festival in Stuttgart, used d&b soundscape new technology with very good result (14).

Bryan Ferry:

Since 2016, Davide became Bryan Ferry live sound engineer, (1) consistently playing each year Worldwide, including US tours where amongst others, he performed at Hollywood Bowl (21), Europeam, Australian, Asian tours and Greek events such as at Odeon Herodes Atticus (3), (2).

In April 2021, Ferry released Royal Albert Hall 2020, an album recorded by Davide Lombardi during the concert mixed at the Royal Albert Hall in March 2020 (23) , prior to the lockdown as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. (4)

Sound Designer:

As well as sound engineer, he has been sound designer depolying amongst others, Outline speakers, for Foo Fighters live at Wembley Stadium 2008 (9), Amy Winehouse (10), Oasis(11), Peter Gabriel, James Taylor (12)

Education:

Davide Lombardi studied at University of Suffolk, where he received a First Class BA (Hons) in Creative and Commercial Music. He has been involved into teaching classes and promoting work experiences for next generations, inviting them whilst at work with Ed Sheeran at Roundhouse, London for Music 4 Mental Health (20)

Achievement and Awards:

Has been nominated 2 times as best FOH sound engineer for Tpi Awards, (2016) (2023), and winner of Pro Sound Awards 2015 as Engineer of the Year for his work with Kate Bush: Before The Dawn (8)
