About Delta Underground

Delta Underground is an electronic music collective that emerged from a writing retreat at a castle in Tuscany. The project was initiated when vocalist and songwriter Mike Scala joined forces with Canadian producer and songwriter Greg Alsop, known for his work with Tokyo Police Club. The founding team also includes collaborators Will Wells (Imagine Dragons, Logic), Kristian Attard (Zedd, Meghan Trainor), and Marcus Miller (OneRepublic, Jon Batiste). Their diverse musical backgrounds and distinctive styles led to the creation of Delta Underground.

Following its formation, Delta Underground embarked on a tour across the United States, Japan, and South Korea. They performed at various festivals, including Lightning in a Bottle. The group also collaborated with artist Luttrell on the track "Just A Dream," which was released on Ajunadeep Records and featured on Sirius XM’s BPM and other international radio stations.

Delta Underground is also actively engaged in humanitarian efforts worldwide, largely driven by Mike Scala's previous initiatives. Scala’s former foundation for at-risk youth and social impact firm collaborate with organizations such as the UNHCR, Bankers Without Boundaries, and the World Health Organization. Scala’s philanthropic activities span over 24 countries, addressing issues such as disaster relief, poverty alleviation, clean energy, water access, women’s rights, and systemic change, with a significant focus on marginalized communities both internationally and within the United States.

About Mike Scala

Mike Scala began his solo career in the Indie Rock underground scene in New York City, performing at notable venues such as The Bitter End, Mercury Lounge, and Joe’s Pub. He collaborated with members of bands including Alien Ant Farm, Wu-Tang Clan, and Dillinger Escape Plan. In 2009, Scala embarked on a tour spanning the U.S., U.K., Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, continuing to tour from 2011 to 2019. During this period, he and his team performed in over 250 cities, headlining shows at prominent venues and festivals including SXSW and CMJ in the U.S., The Roisin Dubh in Ireland, The Troubadour in London, MauerPark and The Hard Rock Cafe in Berlin, and The Espy in Australia. Notably, Scala's group achieved a world-first by performing a concert on the Franz Josef Glacier on New Zealand’s South Island. which gained the attention of international media and have been featured on National TV stations such as RTE and ABC across the world.

Scala was discovered by prominent producers and songwriters, leading him to relocate to Los Angeles. There, he collaborated with producers Angelo Caputo (Avicii, Katy Perry, A Great Big World), Adrian Newman (Michael Franti, Hedley), and Jayme Silverstein (Nico & Vinz, Miguel) on several releases. Throughout his career, Scala has performed with and shared the stage with notable acts including OneRepublic, Carly Rae Jepsen, Deadmau5 and Mau5trap, Sampa The Great, Baker Boy, John Butler Trio, and Mr. Hudson, among others.

Philanthrophic Projects

In 2009, Mike Scala founded the Mike Scala Foundation for Youth, an organization dedicated to providing aid and educational opportunities to at-risk youth in the U.S. and developing countries. Scala's mission extends beyond his artistic pursuits, aiming to make a broader impact through philanthropy. From the beginning of his career, Scala has pledged a significant portion of his tour revenues to support this cause. The foundation has partnered with organizations such as UNICEF, YMCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters, YWCA, and The American Cancer Society, among many grassroots groups. Its initiatives include job training for community leaders, youth programming, disaster relief, water and solar projects, and the construction of schools and housing. Additionally, Scala continues to support youth through music by establishing musician alliances worldwide to offer mentoring and music programs.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Mike Scala and Delta Underground had their tour plans canceled. In response, they redirected their efforts towards humanitarian and COVID-19 relief initiatives. As of 2024, Delta Underground is set to release new music, which will be available on platforms such as Instagram and Spotify. In 2024 his goal is to blend his music career with impactful social initiatives, using his platform to educate and inspire while giving back to the community.
