Derek Lea (born 28 February 1954) was a Scottish footballer who played for junior clubs in Scotland and for a time in Australia. He played at [1]Renfrew Juniors, where he remains one of the clubs all time top goal scores, and at [2]Pollok where he lifted the[3] [4]Junior Cup in 1984/85. He played his entire career in Scotland, except for a time at Heidelberg United, where he played for a year.
During his spell at Renfrew Juniors, he became the league's top goalscorer in the 1979-80 season, with 19 goals from the left wing position.
While playing for [5]Heidelberg United, Derek appeared in a Scottish Select national team match against England in 1983, where he scored one goal is a 5-4 victory.
Derek began his career at Partick Thistle where he failed to cement himself as a regular starter. Later in his career moving about playing for [6]Shotts, Dunipace and Port Glasgow.
Derek Lea passed away on the 25 November 2020.
