The Detroit Handball Club (Detroit HC) was founded in 2019. Detroit HC is the only team handball organization in Michigan and is the largest youth handball organization in the United States.[1]
The organization has been recognized for its ambitious projects and significant contributions to the sport, as highlighted by the International Handball Federation (IHF) in a recent article.[1]
Former players for Detroit Handball include Dutch international player Thibauld Groot[2] and Macedonian goalkeeper Mende Bozinovski.[3]
Detroit HC has formed partnerships with Sporting Clube de Portugal) and Telekom Veszprém. Detroit HC sent former University of Michigan football player Devin Gardner to tryout for Veszprém in 2022. Detroit HC also sent several players to tryout for Sporting CP.
