Dhanoa[1][2][3]is jat clan of an historical lineage . A feudal affiliations among the Landholding jats and Amritdhari Sikh or traditionally Orthodox family under khalsa Panth, formerly they played an important role in the early phase of Sikh constant war-crises era.[who?] Eventually the topological of Dhanoa faction derived from dhan 'blessed' + oaa'those'. This epithet was bestowed on the family by the sixth Sikh Guru Hargobind Sahib (1595-1644) to honor the family's sacrifices in resisting the excesses of the Mughal rulers.[4][verification needed]
