Disha Salian (26 May 1992 – 8 June 2020) was the ex-manager of Indian Hindi actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Salian has worked for the talent management agencies like KWAN and Cornerstone. She died on 8th June 2020 after falling from the 14th floor of a high-rise building in Mumbai. Six days after her death, Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence on 14th June 2020..[1]
Early Life and Professional Career
editDisha Salian was born on 26 May 1992 in Upudi, Karnataka. She was residing with her parents in Dadar, Mumbai. She did her early schooling from The Dadar Parsee Youths Assembly High School in Mumbai. After that she enrolled herself at the R.D. National College and W.A. Science College from where she completed her graduation[2].
Salian started her career with WinkBall company as a freelance reporter in 2011. She began working as a researcher for the Times Group in India in 2012. Media Vantage hired her as a celebrity manager in 2014. She later worked as a talent manager in Mumbai for companies such as Imagesmiths, CAA KWAN Talent Management Agency Private Limited, and Cornerstone Sport and Entertainment Private Limited.[2] Disha was the celebrity manager for various Indian celebrities, including Sushant Singh Rajput, Bharti Singh, and Varun Sharma.
She was engaged to the TV anchor Rohan Rai[3].
Death
editSalian's body was found on 8th June 2020 at the ground floor of a high rise building in Malad West. It was initially declared that she had accidently fallen from the 14th floor while attending a party at the building. The cause of her death was later declared as suicide. The post-mortem report stated that her body was found naked, which raised suspicions of foul play[4].
Sushant Singh Rajput's death occurred on 14th June 2020, six days after Salian's death. Within a few days, a campaign was launched by the fans of Rajput, alleging foul play and cover up in both cases. Social media campaign with the hashtags #JusticeforDisha and #JusticeforSushant was launched and it gained wide traction[5].
In December 2023, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Mumbai Police has been established to investigate Salian's death.[6]
