Background
editAfter the success of his previous albums, Undareyted and From Me 2 U, Darey sought to explore new musical horizons with his third studio album, Double Dare. The album's concept was inspired by Darey's desire to push the boundaries of his sound while appealing to a broad audience. Darey began working on the album in early 2009, aiming to create a project that would showcase his versatility as an artist. The decision to release a double album was driven by his ambition to present two distinct musical experiences. The production of Double Dare involved collaborations with a range of producers and artists, allowing Darey to blend different musical styles seamlessly. The album's release was accompanied by promotional efforts, including music videos and performances, aimed at reaching both existing fans and new listeners. The project was a significant milestone in Darey's career, highlighting his growth and adaptability as an artist.
Darey even decide to go international with the album, featuring the American rapper Chamillionaire. According to Darey, him and Chamillionaire met on Twitter. "He liked the beats to ‘The Way You Are’ and wanted to be on a remix. I was happy to oblige. And I’m still amazed by what we were able to come up with.", Darey said.[3]

editThe first single, "Style Na Style (Remix)", was released on 23 August 2009. The song is a remix of the popular song "Style Na Style" featuring 9ice off Darey's previous album Undareyted. The fourth single, "The Way You Are", was released on the same day and was also produced by Darey and Cobhams Asuquo.[6] The music video for "The Way You Are" was released on 26 November 2010 and directed by Mark Hofmeyr.[7] The fifth single, "Sisi Eko", was released on 9 December 2010 and produced by Cobhams Asuquo and Darey.
