Downtown Gilroy is one of the smaller downtowns in the San Francisco Bay Area. The core downtown area is centered on Monterey Street, bordered by Lewis Street and Hornlein Court. The downtown contains over many shops and restaurants, many located in historic buildings. The non-profit Downtown Gilroy Business Association works on behalf of downtown businesses to promote them and improve downtown.[1]
