Nate Filson, known online as DrDonut or DrDonutt, is an American YouTuber and livestreamer known for his Minecraft content and as the creator and owner of the Minecraft survival server DonutSMP. He is also associated with the Minecraft PvP community, particularly Crystal PvP.[1]
Career

[edit]DrDonut created his YouTube channel in 2015. His Minecraft username, DrDonutt, has been recorded since at least 2015 in Minecraft username records.[2]
His content later became primarily focused on Minecraft, including survival gameplay, player interactions and PvP. He also became known for livestreaming Minecraft gameplay.[3]
YouTube and streaming
[edit]DrDonut regularly livestreams Minecraft gameplay, particularly on DonutSMP. A recurring feature of his streams is visiting players and rating their bases.[4]
His YouTube channel operates under the name DrDonutt.[5]
DonutSMP
[edit]DonutSMP is a Minecraft survival server created and owned by DrDonut. The server supports both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition.[6]
Early history
[edit]According to DonutSMP community documentation, the server began as a small private server around 2020. It was originally known as "Donut Server" and initially used a whitelist with rules prohibiting activities such as killing and stealing.[7]
The server initially grew through DrDonut's livestream audience. Players formed a community and established shops where resources could be traded.[8]
Expansion
[edit]As the player base grew, DonutSMP developed into a more competitive survival server. Community documentation describes the introduction of a hardcore-style server where killing, stealing and griefing were permitted.[9]
The server subsequently developed an economy based around player trading, shops and valuable resources.
Gameplay and community
[edit]DonutSMP combines survival mode, player-versus-player combat and an in-game economy. Players can obtain resources, establish bases, trade items and participate in combat with other players.
DrDonut frequently interacts with players on the server during livestreams. Players may invite him to visit their bases, participate in PvP or react to events taking place on the server.[10]
Crystal PvP
[edit]DrDonut is associated with the Minecraft Crystal PvP community. Crystal PvP is a combat technique that uses end crystals to inflict large amounts of damage on opponents.
Community documentation lists DrDonut as an HT3 Crystal PvP player and credits him with defeating players including Marlow and ItzRealMe.[11]
Other appearances
[edit]DrDonut has appeared in other Minecraft-related projects, including Lifesteal SMP.[12]
Personal life
[edit]Community sources identify DrDonut as being from Virginia in the United States. They also state that he has a younger brother who has appeared during some of his livestreams.[13]
