- Career
Drew Aaron's core business has been trading paper as a commodity, joining The Aaron Group of Companies in 1996.[6] He and Gene Aaron created the Aaron Group of Companies in 2000.[7]
The Aaron Group of Companies is an international privately held paper brokerage firm that consists of various independent paper distributors. During Drew Aaron's tenure, the company merged from two existing firms to one international conglomerate. In 2018, Konica Minolta partnered with The Aaron Group of Companies for international paper sourcing and distribution.[8] The company still maintains the name and has offices together with Indicia Worldwide.[9]
Since 2001, Aaron has been involved in the real estate market, purchasing off-market properties in New York City, the Hamptons, and Connecticut.[10] This includes penthouses in New York City's tallest buildings.[11] Drew purchased and restored North Court in Greenwich,[12] followed by Seagram's Creek, the former home of Seagram's CEO & billionaire Edgar Bronfman Sr.[13]
While in New York, Aaron created The Aaron Gallery, focusing on art advisory and placing high-end contemporary art in different collections.[14] The Aaron Gallery served as the art partner for the SoHo concept store Material Good NY.[15] The entrepreneur served as CEO for various design, real estate development, and architecture firms including Marc Cunningham Inc.[16] and Studio Dror, overseeing high-end real estate development on large-scale residential and commercial projects in the US, Europe, and Asia.[17]
Upon moving to Mallorca, Aaron created Lionsgate Capital, a financing firm for luxury properties in Mallorca, Ibiza, and southern Spain.[18]
- Gallery RED
In 2018, Aaron founded Gallery RED, a series of contemporary art spaces in Palma de Mallorca.[19][20] Gallery RED featured over 50 established and emerging contemporary artists, including Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gerhard Richter, Takashi Murakami, and Damien Hirst.[21]
Between 2019 and 2022, Aaron expanded his business with Rouge Mallorca,[22] Gallery RED Downtown, Café RED, The Concept Shop, Exhibition by Gallery RED, and Art Loft.[23] Aaron has curated art for Gallery RED in the Mallorca, Ibiza, Barcelona, and Madrid Private and Public Airport VIP lounges.[24]
- Personal Life
During his time in New York, Drew married supermodel Hana Soukupová, with whom he has three children.[25] Since the beginning of their relationship, the couple began collecting contemporary art as it is one of their passions.[26][27] Modern Painters Magazine listed Aaron and Soukupová in the top 50 under 50 art collectors in the world.[28] Their various homes and art collections have been featured in different international publications, including The Wall Street Journal,[29] Elle Decor,[30] and Architectural Digest.[31]
In 2017, the family moved to Mallorca (Spain) to raise their children in the countryside of the island.[32] Drew also maintains a family home in Son Vida, located in the center of Palma.[33]
In 2022, Drew became a part of the Steering Committee of the Mallorca Preservation Foundation, supporting the environmental protection of Mallorca.[34]
