East Quay is an arts centre in Watchet, Somerset, England, opened in 2021. It includes two galleries, artists’ studios, an education space, print studio, working paper mill, shop, café and holiday accommodation.[1] The building is situated on the town's quayside, and was designed by Invisible Studio and Ellis Williams Architects.[2]
East Quay was conceived of and is run by Onion Collective CIC, a social enterprise based in Watchet.[3]
East Quay won the RIBA South West Building of the Year Award 2023, and Onion Collective were named national RIBA Client of the Year 2023.[4] The building was praised for its adventurousness by The Guardian and described as an "enchanting place" which is a "fittingly eclectic setting for the wide range of activities going on inside".[5]
