What is an Emotional Support Stuffed Animal?
editAn Emotional Support Stuffed Animal', or ESSA for short, is a stuffed animal which help and assist with their owners' needs, such as providing emotional comfort. These stuffed animals are usually used by people with, but not limited to neurodiverse people who need emotional support, Such as individuals with, but not limited to: Anxiety, PTSD, OCD, Autism, ADHD, OSDD/DID, BPD and many more complex disorders that may cause emotional discomfort.[1]
Bonding
editESSA owners must " bond " with their ESSAs in order to receive emotional comfort from them, doing things with them like: Naming them, giving them personalities, feeding them (Play foods, of course.), Giving them items like collars and harnesses, " training " their dogs, and many more other activities. Bonding is an essential part of owning an ESSA. Without bond an ESSA is just a plush toy, nothing that can give emotional comfort unless otherwise specified.
Feeding
editAs previously stated earlier ; many ESSA owners ' feed ' their ESSAs. This food is usually fake, ESSA owners are extreely creative- usually using cut out square cardboard as kibble or other food for their ESSA.
