Emre Kara (born 13 July 2009) is a student at Co-op Academy Swinton in Salford, Manchester. He has attended the school for four years and has worked on various sporting and educational projects such as The Strive Project and the Manchester United Foundation's STEM programs and Football for All. These projects have been featured in promotional material by the Academy and the Foundation.
Sporting Career
editKara has participated in multiple sports and teams. He spent seven years with the Swinton Amateur Swimming Club, competing in seven swimming galas where he placed 7th, 5th, 5th, 4th, 6th, 2nd, and 2nd. In 2022, he and his team were chosen to represent Swinton in the Isle of Man but did not qualify.
In 2023, after recovering from an injury, Kara decided to leave swimming to focus on rugby. He trained with Folly Lane ARC for nine months and was given two starts in the pre-season, achieving one win and one loss. However, he was unable to register with the team due to the maximum number of dual national players already being registered, leading him to leave the team and rugby.
Kara's most recent sporting experience was with Deans Tigers Football Club, where he trained as a second-choice goalkeeper for one month but did not secure a position for the upcoming season.
Culinary Pursuits
editAfter his sporting experiences, Kara decided to focus on his passion for cooking. He is known for his Instagram page, ChefEmre.99, where he posts his culinary creations. His work has received recognition from the Co-op Trust and his academy.
Personal Life
editEmre was born on 13 July 2009 and currently lives in Salford,Manchester and was born to Latif and Jayne Kara. Emre’s father immigrated in to the United Kingdom in 2006 from the city of Gaziantep. Emre current attends Co-op academy Swinton and has spent 3 years at the academy.
