Draft:Epidemic 23-24 Lineup

Formation:

The band Epidemic was formed in the Fall of 2023 by the band's leader, Sidney Bergstrom, who soon recruited the first drummer, Anthony (Last name unknown). During a lunch break at their school, North Valleys High School, Sidney was approached by one of his newer friends, Elliott Misner, who shared a Guitar Class and an Algebra Class with him. It was then that Sidney mentioned his band, and the lack of a bassist. Elliott, despite the fact that he hadn't played bass in a long time, volunteered. Around the same time, another classmate of Elliott and Sidney's, Jayden, was approached with he same offer, and was asked if he'd be the Rhythm Guitarist of the band.

At the time, the band's name was pending, going through small changes, from Revenge, to Revenge Againt Society. The members met up every now and then, but no consistently, using their time at school to discuss band matters. Sidney and Elliott met up relatively every lunch to discuss these matters, occasionally joined by Jayden, and they visited the drummer, Anthony, every now and then. During one of these "meetings", Elliott mentioned the name of the band being too "punky" and sounding like a Rage Against the Machine album, so him and Sidney discussed other possible names, brainstorming in the school's courtyard while eating school-grade Chicken Tenders, when they thought of the name Epidemic, which they quickly decided on as the title.

Music and Songs:

As prominent fans of Thrash Metal, Epidemic went on to begin writing riffs that fit said genre, such as the original riffs for Raven's Calling and Pharoah's Curse. Along with several guitar riffs written by Sidney, Jayden, and Elliott, lyrics from Anthony were also written, but unfortunately never added to any song.

While writing these riffs, Sidney started a search for a vocalist, and soon found Marcos Garcia, a talented singer/songwriter. Marcos agreed to joining the band, as he was already relatively good friends with moty everyone in the band (excluding the drummer).

During the first semester of their school year, their shared guitar class (everyone but Anthony were peers in said class) had a concert in which the band wanted to audition for a solo performance. Since none of the band's songs hadn't been fully written at the time, Jayde suggested playing a song from the thrash icon, Metallica. After a little debate, the band settled on playing the song Orion off of the album Master of Puppets.

Only a few months away frm the concert, Elliott discovered that he would not b able to bring his bass to the conert, so a substitution song, Seek and Destroy, off of the album Kill 'Em All, was decided upon. The whole band began practicng the song, Jayden especially able to play it flawlessly, but due to a lack of time, the group couldn't meet up to practice, and decided to ditch the effort. They ended up not auditioning for the solo performance in the concert, but instead began writing their own song, Raven's Calling, to play at their school's next concert in May of 2024.

Creative Differences:

During the time before their classes first conert, Sidney, Elliott, and Jayden began discussing the possibility of kicking out the band's drummer, Anthony, because of issues with timing and the band's lack of availability. During this effort, which had not yet been discussed with Anthony, Sidney and Elliott bgan the search for a new drummer, waiting to kick Anthony out until a replacement was found. This search took until after the concert, and a posible replacement was found in the week of the semester's finals.

The band (when they could) met up at Anthony's house to jam and write their music together, though Anthony never took part in the majority of the band activities. This is what started the thoughts of kicking him out, soon evolving into the more important reason: the band couldn't meet up often due to Anthony's schedules, only able to meet up three or four times over the course of 4 months.

Later Variations:While the lineup most likely won't change much over time, some small differences may be made, such as instruments used and better organization overall, such as the use of a wide necked Guiar/Bass hybrid to be used by Elliott, or the use of certain guitar manufacturers as "branding"/sponsorship.
