Erbol Shaimerdenuly Shaimerden (Kazakh: Ербол Шаймерденұлы Шаймерден, lat. Erbol Şaimerdenūly Şaimerden: 12.05.1954, Zhanazhol, North Kazakhstan Region - 13.12.2012, Astana)[1] - Kazakh political and public figure, poet and writer. Member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan[2]. Known for writing over 20 books, many translations of foreign philosophical works into the Kazakh language and for being one of the founding figures in Kazakhstan's public relations sphere.[3]

Biography

Born on 12 May 1954 in Zhanazhol, North Kazakhstan Region.[1]

Got his journalism degree at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in 1976.[2][3]

In the years 1991-1996 worked as the head of department - head of Kazakh Parliament's press service.[1]

Was the deputy-chief editor of the "Egemen Qazaqstan" newspaper in the years 1996-1997.[1]

Head of the language committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information between 2008 and 2010.[1]

Was the first deputy-Chairman of the Information and Archives Committee of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Kazakhstan in the years 2010-2012.[1]

During various periods was a member of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, the Secretary of the Commission on State symbols development and the Secretary of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan.[1]
