Eric LaRocca is a American horror author best known for their viral novella, Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke, first published by Weirdpunk Books in 2021 and reissued with additional short stories by Titan Books (PRH) in 2023.

Unfolding in the form of online chats, Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke was named one of the Best 59 Horror Books of All Time by Cosmopolitan.[1]

LaRocca's debut novel, Everything the Darkness Eats, was published by Clash Books in 2023, while Titan Books issued a new volume of short stories in 2024. Both received positive review in the New York Times.[2]

LaRocca identifies as genderqueer and uses he/they pronouns. His books frequently feature LGBTQ+ characters and themes.
