Eva Blasco is a Spanish chemist working on developing novel polymer-based materials for 3D and 4D printing. She is a professor at the Institute for Molecular Systems Engineering and Advanced Materials (IMSEAM) at Heidelberg University.[1]
Academic career
editBlasco completed her PhD in 2013 at the University of Zaragoza under the supervision of Dr. M. Piñol and Dr. L. Oriol. After obtaining her PhD, Blasco received an Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Research Fellowship and joined the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). She worked in the research groups of Prof. C. Barner-Kowollik and Prof. M. Wegener.[2]
She was subsequently appointed group leader at the Institute of Nanotechnology at KIT. In October 2020, Blasco was appointed Junior Professor at Heidelberg University. She became a W3 Professor in January 2023 at the newly founded Institute for Molecular Systems Engineering and Advanced Materials (IMSEAM).[3] Blasco is a principal investigator and, as of October 2023, co-spokesperson in the Cluster of Excellence 3D Matter Made to Order (3DMM2O), a joint project between Heidelberg University and KIT.
Blasco has published more than 100 scientific papers in peer-reviewed chemistry and materials science journals.[4]
