Everybody Loves Jenifa is the third movie instalment in the Jenifa movie Franchise. With the first released to commercial and critical acclaim in 2008^[1], the second in 2011^[2] and a television series that has spawned over 24 seasons in 2024, the Jenifa Franchise has proven to be a highly bankable one. Everybody Loves Jenifa is about to make another run at huge commercial and internationally acclaimed success to positively represent Lagos, Nigeria and Africa on the global scene.^[3]^[4] The movie will hit cinemas globally on 13 December 2024.

Synopsis

Everybody Loves Jenifa is a captivating drama-comedy that brings laughter, emotion, and powerful life lessons to the screen.

This entertaining film skilfully intertwines comedy and drama to explore relatable themes like self-discovery, identity, and societal expectations. At its heart, it underscores the importance of resilience, integrity, and strong character, encouraging audiences to reflect on their own values and principles.

Through humorous dialogue, vibrant Naija lingo, and colorful characters, Everybody Loves Jenifa connects with viewers of all ages, making it a cherished family favorite. Jenifa is known for being talkative and having a savior-complex, believing she's capable of solving everyone’s problems. This sometimes comes across as overbearing to people around her. Jenifa has a weakness of always being ready to spend her last dime on expensive clothes, shoes and accessories just to look very good and classy. She also struggles with keeping to time when it comes to important appointments. Jenifa has had her fair share of failed relationships due to her preference for men who are sophisticated and intellectual, but her desires often differ from reality. Despite societal and parental pressure, Jenifa remains steadfast in her resolve not to settle for anything less than what she truly wants. Jenifa not only leads by example but also inspires her fellow estate residents to engage in philanthropy through her non-governmental organization. From conducting medical outreach programs, to creating foodbanks and empowering the youth, Jenifa's commitment to social betterment knows no bounds.
