Submission declined on 3 June 2024 by Paul W (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

- Comment: Likely to be notable per WP:NACADEMIC, but requires additional citations based on significant coverage about Batista in reliable, independent, secondary sources with reputations for accuracy and fact-checking (not primary sources such as profiles from institutions to which he is affilated). Draft could be expanded to include dates, (sourced) information about his career, principle publications, dates of key awards, etc. Paul W (talk) 10:46, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
