False Idol (band) is an American Hardcore Punk band that was formed in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 2022.[1] The founding members of the band were guitarist/vocalist Casey "CJ" Cook Jr., drummer Brady Moore, and bassist Emma Lang. In April 2023, the band officially began playing shows around Oklahoma, first debuting at the Grand Royale.[2] During this time, the band lineup changed with vocalist Jonathan Aguilar and back up vocalist/guitarist Owen Lewellen joined the band.[3] By June of the same year, Emma Lang departed the band and was later replaced by Breanna Caron as the new bassist that following July.

Band Trivia

edit
  1. In February of 2022, a precursor project that would later spawn False Idol formed. A Facebook ad by Bob Alaburda brought CJ, Emma, and, the at the time drummer for Crazy Love Hawk, Trevor Whitmire, together to try to form a band. However, due to a difference in opinion the group dissolved quickly without producing any music for release. Emma and CJ continued collaborating Later, in the summer of 2022, Brady joined the duo.
  2. Two of the songs that have been released by False Idol were not originally written for the band to release. Fly Higher and Empty Eyes originally were titled Its Who I am and You Stay Classy San Diego, respectively. They were created when CJ and Brady were in a garage rock/straight edge punk band together called "The Resistance"
