Fayed Mohamed Fayed (Arabic: فايد محمد فايد) (August 29, 1924 - October 27, 1988) is a singer and actor Egyptian.[1]

His life and upbringing

Fayed Mohamed Fayed was born in one of the villages of Mit Ghamr Center Dakahlia Directorate on August 29, 1924, and when he met Mohamed Hosni the father of Soad Hosni and Najat Al Saghira her life changed completely[2], and he took him to Cairo with him, and enrolled him to study at the Institute of Arabic Music, and studied there for two years, and learned to sing and play the oud,[3] died at his home October 27, 1988 Kafr Tahermes Giza.

His marriage

edit

Fayed married more than 39 wives, and I met most of them at the weddings and parties that he attended, and he married from different ages and classes and from inside and outside the artistic community, and he did not stop marrying until her death in 1989, and the strangest thing is that he kept a special suit, when he attended the Sharia courts for divorce.[4]

His marriage to Asmahan

edit

His most famous and first marriage was to the singer Asmahan, when Fayed happened to be in Jerusalem in 1942, to hold his concerts, and the director of the music committee at the Near East Radio in Jaffa, and Asmahan was living in Jerusalem and working to return to Egypt to film her movie Love and Revenge, but the residency laws in Egypt refused her return, and she found the most appropriate solution by marrying Fayed to obtain Egyptian citizenship formally to be able to return to Egypt, and the marriage lasted for only twenty days.[5]

His career

edit

He worked as a music teacher at Sayyida Zeinab Elementary School, and began his life singing at popular occasions and weddings, and then sang at a number of radio stations and nightclubs, and his talent appeared through singing on Egyptian Radio with his song "Souk El-Helwa Gabr" which became popular and famous at the time, he began appearing in the cinema participating in singing in many films, Ali El-Kassar later chose him in his films as a singer and actor in some artistic scenes, the most famous of which was the film Salafny 3 Genieh.[6]
