This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). He never had a teacher nor attended any teaching academy; he only studied sculpture for a year with the sculptor González Pola. In Paris he ended up as artistic director of two magazines: Mundial and Elegancias. He also worked in Paris for several publishing houses.
In 1916, Perfumería Gal organized a competition for advertising posters to relaunch its Heno de Pravia Soap and upon winning the competition he became the Artistic Director of Gal, the first time that this position became part of a business organization in Spain.
Ribas would be the creator of the images that would identify the brand for which he created a large number of advertisements. He died in 1952 in Madrid.
It has been said of him that "together with Penagos, he represents one of the highest levels of Spanish deco ".He mainly worked in drawing for advertisements, posters and, above all, color drawings of a gallant nature, both in the themes and in the way of dealing with them. In this genre he has been considered the direct heir of Raphael Kirchner and his delicate art.
