- Comment: Unsure where notability is supposed to lie. What the refs show is that it is in the top 5% of Neuro podcasts - but how do they compare with other podcasts? The sound very niche and, more that one name is listed in the source. The enzyme research does not in itself convey notability. This whole article looks way too soon . Filippo Dall'Armellina is an Italian researcher working in the field of protein-lipid biology.
Education and research
editHe appeared on Il Gazzettino newspaper after giving the valedictorian address upon receiving his Bachelor's degree from the University of Liverpool in July 2022[1][2][3][4].
He is the first author of "In silico modeling human VPS13 proteins associated with donor and target membranes suggests lipid transfer mechanisms," a peer-reviewed study published in the journal Proteins[5]. Funded by the Wellcome Trust, he modeled four human homologs (VPS13A, VPS13B, VPS13C, VPS13D) to explore their lipid transfer abilities. This research proposed a mechanism for lipid transport across organelles via a novel domain that shares structural similarities across different protein families, leading multiple subsequent studies[6][7][8][9][10] to investigate the enigmatic functions of VPS13 proteins in humans and their role in lipid transport across organelles, along with the clinical implications of these mechanisms.
