First Defense is a protocol devised for the secure communication of Nexum first*defense agents, registered and officially reserved with the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority in 2012 by Senior Nexum Engineer Michael Fread.[1]
While First Defense is a proprietary protocol it is known that it utilizes both Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port 1232 and maybe one of the first protocols to use the window and status of a parallel TCP connection to guide a faster UDP streamed transmission. As of 9/15/2024 this protocol continues to show usage on the well known tracking site speedguide.net[2]
