Fractured LARP[1] is a non-profit multi-genre live-action role-playing game (LARP) or boffer LARP which was started in 2012 by Mark Hudgeon and operates out of Georgia and Tennesee state parks.
Combat
editFractured uses foam weapons and spell packets designed for safety and usage in live role play combat. As opposed to other war combat LARPs, this is a lightest touch system. Participants use the lightest possible swings to make contact. The combat system simplified to where all base damage is one, and is considered a "hit location" based system. The body is divided into five areas: the torso, two arms as limbs, and two legs as limbs. The head, hands, feet, and groin are not valid targets. If a participant takes damage on a limb, that specific limb is unable to be used. If a participant takes damage on three limbs or the torso, the participant is considered "Critical" and unconscious. Healing effects may revive the participant, but if left untreated, the participant will die.
System
editFractured uses the Forest of Doors rules system which utilizes foam weapons to simulate combat, spell packets to simulate magic, and verbal taglines to simulate spellcasting, combat abilities, and social abilities. A player is allowed one character from any of the available Origin Worlds. All players start with three traits and 30 Character Points with which to build their character. As new character points are earned, they can be spent on new skills, traits, and abilities.
