The French School of San Pédro, also known as "Les Hibiscus," is a primary and secondary school in Côte d'Ivoire.
Location
editFounded in 1987, it is located in San-Pédro, the capital of the Bas-Sassandra District, in the western part of the country, near the Liberia border.
Description
editThe French School of San Pédro served French, Lebanese, and other expatriates until 2004. It was partially managed by the families of these expatriates but also welcomed local students.
The school offered education from preschool (petite section de maternelle) up to the third year of secondary school (classe de troisième). After this level, students had to move to the economic capital of Côte d'Ivoire, Abidjan, to continue their studies.
The school has reopened under the name École Française Jacques-Monod (EFJM), but it has not yet regained accreditation from the French Ministry of National Education.
