Friedhelm Taube is a German agricultural scientist.
Biography and Career
editFriedhelm Taube was born in 1955 in Rehren, Lower Saxony. His parents were farmers and owned a farm in Schaumburg region. Taube studied Agriculture at CAU Kiel. With his degree he worked as manager in a farm. Later he gained a Ph.D. at Institute of Plant Production and Plant Breeding and git habilitated there. He taught at the University of Applied Science Kiel.[1]
In 1995 he became Professor at CAU Kiel and direktor of Institut Plant Production and Plant Breeding (Institut für Pflanzenbau und Pflanzenzüchtung). In 1997 he became scientific head of the research focus “Organic farming and extensive land use systems”. From 2002 to 2004 He was dean of the Faculty of Agricultural and Nutritional Sciences.[2] From 2006 to 2008 Taube was President of the German Society for Plant Production Sciences.[1]
In 2023 he was retired.[3]
Taube lives with his family in Kirchbarkau.[1]
