• Comment: Primary sources don't establish notability per WP:ORG, and the secondary sources cited don't provide significant coverage of GLF Schools (and are in any case routine business reporting, and all bar one from the same publication so only really count as a single source). GLF Schools (previously The Glyn Learning Foundation until July 2015[1]) is a multi-academy trust comprising of 42 schools (7 secondary schools, and 35 primary schools), with over 16,000 pupils[2] covering a wide area of Southern England, with clusters of schools in Oxfordshire, North Surrey, South London, and Hampshire.[3][4] GLF Schools is the 12th largest multi-academy trust in the UK and the first multi-academy trust to comprise of both primary and secondary schools in Surrey.[5][6]

History

edit

GLF Schools was founded on 4 March 2011, with its first school year being 2012-2013, under the name 'The Glyn Learning Foundation[1] with only two schools,[5] being Glyn School and Danetree Primary School.[3] This grew to eight schools, with six joining at the start of the 2013-2014 school year.[3]

GLF Schools took on five schools during the 2016-2017 period, an increase to 24 schools from 19, and was due to take on three more schools before December 2017.[7]

In 2019, two academies run by the Floreat Education Academies Trust, founded by a Conservative Party peer, James O'Shaughnessy, were transferred to GLF Schools, after the founding trust closed due to financial problems.[8] Later in February of 2021, The Castle Trust handed Greenway Academy to GLF,[9] further growing the Trust.

In May 2023, the founding CEO of GLF Schools, Jon Chaloner, announced he was stepping down, he had been in the post for 11 years.[5] The current CEO, Julian Drinkall, entered the role in December 2023 after leading a "turnaround" at Academies Enterprise Trust.[10] He pledged to visit all 42 schools in his first school term as CEO.[11]
