Gaan Ajke Gaiboi (গান আজকে গাইবোই in Bangla) is the first solo album of Bangali lyricist, composer and singer Arhan Dasmunshi. The album will be released on 16 June 2024 and will consist of 5 Bangali songs.[1]
Background and recording
editMost of the tracks included in the album were written and composed by Arhan Dasmunshi during his school days at St. Lawrence High School, Kolkata. According to Arhan, it was his long-standing wish to professionally publish some of these songs. With encouragement and support from his parents Subhendu Dasmunshi and Rakhi Mitra Dasmunshi and school friend Anirban Mukhopadhyay, recording of the album started in the summer of 2023 at Muzitec Studio, Kolkata.
During this period Arhan also started his undergraduate education at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneshwar with a major in Computer Science Engineering. Most of the tracks were recorded at the studio during Arhan's intermittent stay at Kolkata whenever he would return from Bhubhaneshwar. At times the recording would be spearheaded by Anirban Mukhopadhyay while Arhan would work from his hostel residence at college.
The recording of the album concluded in the summer of next year on 7 June 2024. A trailer was released on Arhan Dasmunshi's personal YouTube channel on 12 June 2024 subsequently followed by promotional videos.
