Gabrielle Lyn Morales Baker (born 10 May 2007) is a Filipino-American footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for the Philippines women's national under-17 football team at international level.
Early life
editBaker currently attends Rutgers Preparatory School in Somerset, New Jersey, where she plays for the Argonauts varsity soccer team.[1] She helped the Argonauts win their NJSIAA Non-Public B state championship 3–1 over DePaul during her sophomore year.[2][3] As a junior, she was named All State First Team after helping her team win their second straight state championship title.[4][5] She also plays youth club soccer for PDA Blue of Elite Clubs National League.[6]
International career
editIn March 2024, Baker was first called up for Philippines U-17 national team, where she attended a training camp with the Filipinas U17 in California, USA.[7][8] A few days later, she then received her first call-up to the Philippines senior women's national team for friendlies against South Korea.[9][10][11][12][13]
In May 2024, Baker was selected as part of the Filipinas U17 squad for the 2024 AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup in Bali, Indonesia.[14][15][16] She made her international debut on 6 May in a match against Indonesia U-17 where the Philippines won 6–1.[17][18] She featured in all three group stage matches during the tournament.[19][20][21]
