Gaurav Burman.[1] is an Indian-origin businessman and an investor[2]. He is a fifth-generation member of the Burman family[3], which founded Dabur[4], an Ayurvedic and FMCG company. He introduced Taco Bell, a global fast-food chain specializing in Mexican-inspired cuisine, to India through Burman Hospitality Pvt Ltd[5][6]. He is involved in managing the family's investment program[7][8].

Burman graduated from Tufts University[9], Massachusetts, United States in 1993 with a dual BA in Economics and History[10].

Career

Burman started his career in the Business Development Group at Dabur India Limited. In 1997, he joined the private equity arm of Kleinwort Benson, a private equity firm. He later worked with Dresdner's Global Private Equity Group in New York. He raised and was the President and Secretary of Atlas Acquisitions[11], a US$200 million SPAC[12][13].

Personal life

Gaurav Burman is married to Karima Burman[27][28], and they have two children. He is the son of Vivek Chand Burman[29], Chairman Emeritus of Dabur[30] and younger brother of Mohit Burman[4][31], chairman of Dabur. He Resides in London and is involved in charitable projects, including serving on the advisory boards of Sesame Street and the Nature Conservancy. He is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO).
