History

edit

In November 2020, Gauthmath was developed by GAUTHTECH founded in Singapore[4] as a maths problems solver[5]

In October 2022, Gauthmath launched 1-on-1 math tutoring service (reported 24*7 available[6]).

Late 2023, Gauthmath rebranded to Gauth[7].

Platform and Features

edit

Gauth is an online platform which enables students at middle schools, high schools, and universities to ask, search, and receive explanations and answers to a wide range of math questions such as: algebra, geometry, words problem and etc.[8]

Function

edit

Gauth uses AI powered calculator (answer engine) and provides the answer with steps after the user uploads the question[9]

The platform searches for similar math problems in database and displays search results with answers if a math problem cannot be solved.

In case there is no similar question already asked, the user can submit the question and get the explanations and answers from a live tutor within 1-15 minutes.[6]

The platform offers 24*7 live tutor help with multi subjects, user may needs to pay for the live tutor services. As reported, Gauth offers payment of up to $1500 per month for tutors with expertise in math, chemistry, physics, or biology.[10]

Method

edit

A user can ask the question either using the keyboard or by snapping & uploading a photo taken with a mobile phone camera[11]. An extension is also available for users who use Chrome browsers, allowing them to make screenshots and upload images to get answers.

Parent company

edit

April 2024, Forbes and CBSNews reported Gauth and TikTok have same parent company,[12] but there is no official confirming or responding to the news. As information shows on crunchbase, Gauth is an individual private company, the APP is developed by GAUTHTECH
