George Bebbington (born 20 October 2000) is a British born reality television star and media personality. Best known for his appearance on MTV's Ex On The Beach UK Series 11: The One That Got Away.[1]

Early Life

George Bebbington was born in Warrington, Cheshire but grew up in Runcorn, Merseyside. George is an only child, he attended The Heath School[2][3] and went onto study Film & Media Studies at Priestley College.[4] He was a stand in co-host for Priestley College Radio occasionally filling in during the morning.[citation needed] Before appearing on television George worked as an events host where he met celebrities such as; Jamie Carragher, Jamie Webster, Paddy Pimblett, Paul Sinha and Sally Morgan.[5]

Ex On The Beach 2023

In April 2023 it was announced George would be a cast member on the returning series of MTV's Ex On The Beach UK.[6] This was the first series of the show since the 10th series was cancelled due to the passing of Mike Thalassitis.[7] This was the first series of the show to heavily feature LGBTQ+ contestants, George was the first openly bisexual male on the civilian series and the first to receive an ex arrival. George received a ton of media attention once the show began airing being featured in multiple articles by Daily Star,[8] Cheshire Live,[9] Liverpool Echo,[10] Warrington Guardian[11] among various other tabloids.

George was the first to be sent home from the show alongside his ex, his drama filled time on the show being cut short caused minor controversy, as fans of the show complained about his early departure calling it a "fix" and claiming the show was "boring" without him.[12] George was also the only cast member from the series to be featured on the series advertisement poster.[13]

Despite his early exit from the show, George was recognized in Liverpool Echo's official 2023 Rainbow List, celebrating LGBTQ+ figures from Liverpool. George was featured for not conforming to LGBTQ+ stereotypes and showcasing there is more than one way to be gay.[14]

2023-Present

Since appearing on Ex On The Beach, George has gone on to have multiple other television appearances. Shortly after Ex On The Beach aired, he appeared as a guest on British daytime talk show Steph's Packed Lunch[15] where he was interviewed by Anna Ryder Richardson about his bisexuality, celibacy and virginity.

In November 2023 George was a guest on First Dates: The Podcast[16] hosted by CiCi Coleman and Frankie Bridge talking about his experience on dating.

In July 2024 George featured in Joe Sugg's production company's; Final Straw Productions new reality series Date Me At My Worst[17] hosted by TikTok star Max Balegde. During the show he revealed that he'd never been on a date before and that he had a long foreskin.[18]

Also in July 2024 George was a guest on The David Potts Show[19] where he discussed his time as an events host and celebrities he'd met. During the interview George revealed that he came out to his family with help from British television personality Vicky Pattison when he was 15 years old.

In October 2024 George appeared on Big Brother: Late & Live[20] as a superfan where he was interviewed by Will Best[21] about his opinions on the housemates of the twenty-first series of the show.

George has made multiple other media appearances through social media collaborations, in the tabloids and on podcasts.

Activism and charity work

George is very vocal on his social media pages about his beliefs, often posting donation links and sharing his opinions on political topics.

George posts frequently on his social media pages advocating for animal rights, black lives matter, LGBTQ+ rights, he also posts in support of Palestine and Ukraine, dedicating instagram highlights to these topics.[22] He supports the Green party and advocated for them during the 2024 British general election.

On August 2024 George teamed up with Cat's Protection League collecting donations to go towards the Warrington branch of the charity.[23]

Personal life

George is openly bisexual, he credits British television personality Vicky Pattison for helping him come out at the age of 15.[24]

George suffers from Body Dysmorphia[25] and also previously struggled with bulimia.[26] He is an advocate for men's mental health and speaks openly about his mental health struggles, citing MMA star Paddy Pimblett as a inspiration. He began training in CrossFit at the age of 17 to help with his body image issues.

Shortly after Ex On The Beach aired he was rumored to be in a relationship with The Only Way Is Essex star Junaid Ahmed.[27]

He is the grandson of British superbike racer Kevin Riley.

George coined the phrase "sometimes masc, sometimes fem, always an icon" for himself.
