Draft:Geronimo Stilton: The Kingdom of Fantasy: The Battle for Crystal Castle

The Battle for Crystal Castle is the thirteenth adventure in the Kingdom of Fantasy by Elisabetta Dami who writes under the pen name Geronimo Stilton (character) . In this book, Geronimo must venture beyond the borders of Fantasy in search of the Crown of the Empire.

Plot

The book begins with Geronimo reading a pop_up book in his house that's going to get published at the Rodents Gazette the next day. After examining the illustrations he accidentally falls into the book and discovers Queen Blossom's Crystal Castle. There he meets a mysterious figure that vanishes but then sees Queen Blossom of tne Fairies . Blossom tells him about the stolen Harmony stone that just got stolen from the castle. She then takes him to the legend room to read about the story of Swamp Valley.

The Story goes like this: It said long ago there existed a place called Blossom Valley that was beautiful and magical. But one day an evil wizard took control and turned those splendid valleys into disolate lands. Th Valley was no longer blossoming but a gloomy dark place. And so it's gaurds began to be sad until they became Grey and disappeared and beacame The Invisible Army. Blossom then suggests that the Invisible Army is the one that stole the stone and without it, the entire kingdom is at it's weakest.

Blossom introduces Geronimo to her daughter Princess Winglet who has now grown and is about eighteen. Winglet introduces her pet tiger, Dawn the white tiger and her friend Flamelet the fairy. She then takes Geronimo to her princess garden where she and Flamelet paint and do archery, she even ahows him a dragonfly hair clip given to her by Flamelet. When Winglet almost gets hurt, Lorian the Dragon Tamer saves her. Winglet doesn't like Lorian. The gaurds of the castle suddenly tell them the Invisible Army is almost at Crystal Castle. When they scab the Horizon, all they could see are spears and clubs suspended in mid-air. They go inside Crystal Castle again for an important meeting with The Alliance of the Winged Ones. The alliance pledges to protect and defend the Kingdom.

Suddenly the Invisibles break into the Castle appearing and dissappearing! Geronimo, Winglet, Dawn and Lorian manage to escape after Blossom tells them they must find the Crown of the Empire and giving them the mask of the Winged ones. As they make it into the fields Lorian and Geronimo ride on Narek the Emerald Dragon. They soon reach the borders of the kingdom of Fantasyand there, Winglet uses the mask to find a Golden path and a spider shaped key.

They continue on their journey by following the path and soon enter a forest using the key. They discover a Giant Spider hiding in the trees. The spider is a weaver and introduces himself as Monseur Arach. After Winglet explains they are on an important mission and must pass his layer, Arach explains that the only way to pass is for them to weave a tapestry he likes. Geronimo is put to the task and when he messes up, Arach cries and states Geronimo has made 'the perfect tapestry.' They manage to leave but not after Arach tells them to go with Foxlyn the Cleverest Fox in the Kingdom of Fantasy, who has been imprisoned by Arach for trying to steal his tapestries. Foxlyn asks her new travell buddies for money but they are all broke.

The path leads them to a layer where they discover a snake-like key and a Giant snake with three heads. The snake, Viperette, Snakessa and Pythia tell them the only way to pass is to make a sonnet about snakes. Geronimo succeeds and they continue on their journey. Later they discover a turtle hanging on Nareks tale. It introduce herself as Creasly Wrinkledom. Creasly begs to come with them on ther journey and they agree and stop in a clearing for the night (and Geronimo remembers they only have 4 nights left to complete their mission since they were tasked with 5).

The next day they find a key shaped like a flame and the path leads them to a Swamp where a shadowy mysterious monster tries to scare the. Away but the discover it's a tree frog pretending. The frog introduces herself as Mossy the Tree Frog who begins to come along with them, but not before they partake in the fire jump to cross a lava swamp. Geronimo begins to feel like they were being followed. They agree and they see a key shaped like a sea shell and the adventure leads the to the Outlandish Ocean wich consists of strange fish. There a Furnace Fish tries to attack them after assuming they want steal his treasure. Foxlyn creates a distraction by pretending to steal the Fishes treasuer and returning it with her entire life savings. The fish exlaims that Foxlyns act was an act of a noble spirit and asks if Foxlyn will stay behind In the sea with him. Whan Foxlyn agrees the fish tells Geronimo that to pass the lake that surrounds The Island of Seven Secrets he'll need a gold nugget from a noble spirit and he gives him one nugget of Foxlyns gold.

They continue on the mission by finding a key that's shaped like a wing and following the Golden path that leads them high into the clouds. There, Lorian fights a Sphinx in the air but disappears and doesn't return. Feeling heartbroken from not being able to save her friend, Winglet confesses she never hated Lorian. They continue on their journey and reach a foggy location where they get attacked by the invisible. Then a mysterious hooded figure takes the noble nugget from Geronimo and uses it to cross the lake, but not long before Mossy confeses she has been working for th Mysterious figure and has betrayed them, but the figure turns her back on her and calls her a useless tree frog. Geronimo, Winglet, Dawn and Creasly fight the invisibles and Creasly gives Geronimo her earing thinking it'll work to hrlp them cross the lake. Geronimo tosses it in and a boat appears and only Geronimo and Winglet board it to the Island of Seven Secrets.

The Island is only rock and they see the hooded figure who reveals herself to be Flamelet who transform into another girl who claims she's Queen Wither's daughter and Winglets cousin since Blossom and Wither are sisters. A Rock giant tells them the only way to get the crown is by participating in 7 challenges. 1st challege: a chess match gets won by Flamelet. 2nd challenge: a archery challenge us won by Winglet. 3rd challenge: a martial arts fight is won by Winglet. 4th challenge: a rave is won by Flamelet but only by cheating. 5th challenge, a riddle is won by Winglet. 6th challenge: a puzzle is a draw and the during the 7th challenge, they climb a mountain to reach a throne, but Flamelet pretends to be hurt to slow Winglet down, who offers to help and Flamelet ends up reaching the throne first.

As she places herself on the throne, it shakes her off and when Winglet sits, the Crown of the Empire of Fantasy appears. As the throne prepares to fly with Geronimo and Winglet on top, Flamelet hangs on to it and ends up falling. The throne flies them to The Kingdom of Fairies to Crystal Castle. It's strong light causes the Invisible to flee the battle that has been raging on since they left. The have won the Battle.

Winglet is to be Crowned Empress and all her friends reappear including Lorian. During the Coranation, Flamelet appears to apologize since Flamelet has made a wish of the Crown to save her. Wither appears in anger and intends to steal the crown but Mossy saves everyone along with a powerful light from the throne. After a joyful celebration and everyone ensuring that Flamelet'll be a great Empress, Geronimo returns home on Narek just in time to publish the pop-up book for the Kingdom of Fantasy.
