Ghughuli-Anandnagar JN. via Maharajganj line is under construction. The Indian government has approved the construction of a new 52.7 km long railway line connecting Anandnagar to Ghughuli via Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh. The project, funded under the PM Gati Shakti scheme, will cost ₹958.27 crore and will require the acquisition of 194 hectares of land, including 71.5 hectares from 20 villages. This new railway line will improve connectivity to the Indo-Nepal border area, boost the local agricultural industry, and provide an alternate route for trains travelling from North India to the Northeast. The project includes the construction of 9 major and 14 minor bridges, and will have 7 stations: Anandnagar Junction, Maharajganj, Ghughuli Crossing, Parsia Bujurg Halt, Pakri Nauania Halt, Shikarpur Halt, and Pipra Munderi Halt. The line will be electrified and will reduce the travel distance between Panyiahwa and Gonda by 42 km.
