Girlhouse is an electric pop solo project by American artist Lauren Luiz. The Girlhouse project was first released at the end of 2020. Girlhouse first released a few singles including "Ugly Sweater Xmas Party," "Mt. Shasta Dr," and "Knuckle Tattoo." Even though Girlhouse was not well-known or covered by the media at first, the singles were very successful and raised a lot of interest in the singer and the direction her music was taking.
Lauren Luiz, the one behind Girlhouse, is also known for her work as a Broadway actress and singer in the folk-pop trio WILD. She has appeared in various productions including ‘Spring.
On May 14, 2021, Lauren Luiz released her first debut EP, appropriately titled “The Girl House EP”. The EP features a collection of tracks that showcase Luiz's evolution as a songwriter and musician. Following the first EP 3 more have been released title, “the second ep”, “the third ep”, “the fourth”.
Luiz's writing process often involves storytelling, a skill she has achieved through her background in musical theatre. She infuses her pop music with narrative elements, creating compelling and introspective lyrics. Girlhouse takes many influences from different artists although one whom she takes influence from is Phoebe Bridgers.
