Go Dharmic is a Hindu faith charity which started in Luton [1] and encourages people to create positive changes in the lives of others by volunteering and uses the motto 'love all, feed all, serve all'. [2]
History and work
editDuring the COVID-19 pandemic the organisation operated an emergency food helpline, [3] providing meals to international students and others in need of urgent food assisstance. [4] In India they mobilised a team of 1500 volunteers to support overstretched hospitals. [5]
In 2021 they opened The Good Karma Store in the former Gap store on Hamstead High street, offering goods crafted by rural women in India [6] Two years later, in 2023 they initiated a major environmental project to protect the Sundarbans by planting two million mangrove trees in the wetlands of West Bengal. [7]
In 2024 they organised a Diwali gala dinner event in Westminster's Central Hall. [8]
The organisation currently has a global network of 3,000 volunteers. [9] They continue to deliver free meals to vulnerable families, addressing food insecurity during the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. [10]
