God of War is an upcoming American fantasy drama television series. Based on the video game franchise developed by Santa Monica Studio, it is set to air on Amazon Prime Video. Ronald D. Moore serves as the showrunner.
Development by Sony Pictures Television, Amazon Studios and PlayStation Productions began in March 2022 with a full season being ordered by Amazon in May 2022.

editIn March 2022, Deadline reported that a live action television series was in negotiations with Amazon Prime Video by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby.[1] On May 2022, the series was officially announced and by December, Amazon greenlit the series.[2][3] Santa Monica Studios studio creative director Cory Barlog serves as executive producer.[4] In April 2023, PlayStation Productions head Asad Qizilbash stated that the "same care and formula" that was done with The Last of Us, will be applied to God of War.[5] In October 2024, Ronald D. Moore was hired as the showrunner.[6]
Writing

Release
editGod of War is scheduled to be released on Amazon Prime Video.[2]
