Gohar Harutyunyan (Armenian: Գոհար Հարությունյան; born August 25, 1979) is an Armenian model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Armenia 1998, Miss CIS 1999 (Commonwealth of Independent States) and Mrs. Globe 2010[1] attaining first and the only beauty queen acquiring winner title for Armenia in an international beauty competition.
Biography
editGohar Harutyunyan was born in Yerevan, where she spent her childhood. She aspired to become a painter, studied in the Armenian Pedagogical University, majoring in Arts.
She joined to compete beauty pageant in 1997 where she placed first runner up. Having signed contract with Miss Armenia organization, she represented Armenia in Miss Student of the World 1997 (South Korea), Miss Tourism 1997 (India), and American Dream Girl 1997 (Bahamas).[2]
In 1998, she joined Miss Armenia 1998 and won this beauty pageant. In January 29, 1999 in Moscow, where all 32 contestants from 12 countries were competing, she won Miss CIS. This was the first victory in an international beauty competition for Armenia.
After this new title, she was invited to Kiev, to be honored as “The queen of European Stage” title during Ukrainian annual state award ceremony “Zolota Fortuna.”
She became known during her modeling career in the USA, thanks to her cooperation with king of pop Michael Jackson form MLS limousine service. The advertisements with Michael Jackson were placed in “Hotels and Great Resorts” magazine in 2001.[3]
In 2009, she participated to Mrs. Globe 2010 and won this title.[4]
During her modeling career, she took part in several fashion shows, TV related jobs, photoshoots, music videos. Some well-known brands and events include Mscy’s Passport fashion show, St. John, DKNY. One of the well-known music videos she took part in is Blondie’s “Good Boys”.
Besides modeling, she worked as an anchor woman for the Los Angeles Armenian Horion TV’s “Z Project” entertainment program.

editIn 2017, she founded Miss Armenia Pan Armenian Organization and became the first national director who was the first license holder on Miss World and Miss Universe beauty competitions, which allowed Armenian beauties to represent the Republic of Armenia on these two competitions.[5]
In 2022, she became the official distributor of French skincare Yon-Ka for the several markets in CIS countries, including Armenia, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan and Turkmenistan.[6]
