This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). Gothic Slam was an American thrash metal band from Jersey City, New Jersey. It was formed under the name Stryker in 1984, but the name was changed in 1987. Gothic Slam released two studio albums. Just a Face in the Crowd was produced by Rob "Wacko" Hunter from Raven. According to vocalist Dan Gomez, the band broke up due to lack of management and financial success.[1]
During the band's career they played gigs opening for acts like Nuclear Assault, Crumbsuckers, Suicidal Tendencies, Kreator, Fates Warning, Death Angel, Morbid Angel, Pantera, and Deicide.[2]
Drummer Dave Chavarri went on to play in bands like Soulfly, Pro-Pain, and Ill Niño, a band which he founded.
