Grema Sulaiman Ahmad born 4 January 1997 is a Nigerian Entrepreneur and the current serving Director General of the Centre For Energy Investment and innovation.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]
Early life and Education
editGrema was born into the prominent family of Sulaiman in Fagba located in the Agege Local Government Area of Lagos State, on 04 January 1997 to Mr. Hamid Sulaiman and Mrs. Sulaiman. He acquired his primary school cerfificate in Ogun State in the year 2009[14] Subsequently, he attended Ositelu Memorial College[15] in 2010 for his Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). He proceeded to attend Dream Makers international college, Lagos state. There, he successfully acquired his West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and completed the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination which is Nigeria's tertiary Entrance Examination in the year 2015.[16][17]
In 2019, He graduated from Universite La HEGJ, also known as HEGJ University in Cotonou, Republic of Benin where he earned his first degree in Mass Communications. He later obtained certification in Innovation Strategy and Leadership from the European Institute of Leadership and Management Dublin, Ireland.[18]
Career

In 2019, Grema became the CEO of Blackboard Associates Limited, a private consulting firm located in Abuja Nigeria.[19][20][21][22]
Later the following year, he propounded the creation of The Centre for Energy Investment and Innovation -CEII, which is now an international energy organization focused facilitating the development of sustainable energy practices and policies in Nigeria. The creation of the CEII was motivated by the passing of the Nigeria's Energy transition plan[23][24][25][26]
Unfortunately, the CEII was not established until later in January 2022 when it received it approval and framework by the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources and was registered as a limited by guarantee organization with the Corporate Affairs Commission. He became the serving Director General of the Centre immediately after establishment.[27]
Innitiatives
editAs the serving Director General of the CEII, Grema proposed the Nigeria Energy Transition Fund (NETFUND). This initiative aims to attract over $2bn in Foreign-Direct Investment into the country.[28] It was was structured under the CEII foreign Investment module, aligning with the renewed hope agenda of the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Grema pitched this agenda during the African Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit (AFNIS24) held in the Aso Villa, Abuja in August of 2024.[29][30][31][32]
In 2023, Grema spearheaded the CEII in developing and introducing proposals for the development of The Nigerian Gulf Energy Investment Forum (NGEIF), the Niger State Energy Development Fund (NEDF) and the joint CEII-Investment Agenda .[33]
