HMI, (Howler Monkeys Incorporated.) [1]

edit

HMI, or Howler Monkeys Incorporated, is a Gorilla Tag anti-doxxer protection agency that specializes in providing services to the public by subduing threats towards Gorilla Tag users and content creators. They work closely with the Bot Hunting Legion, (BHL.) They were also established on 2/17/2024 and have been working hard ever since. They have 3 main types of employees, GGEs (Ground Game Enforcers) HMI Investigators, and GHMs (Gorilla Hacker Monkeys).

HMI was initially an ARG, and some aspects of such are still prevalent, however they have now mainly focused on doxxing threats.

HMI Investigators [3]

edit

This crucial division serves as the primary investigative force within Howler Monkeys Incorporated (HMI). Tasked with tracking down doxxers and hackers, HMI Investigators conduct thorough interviews, analyze digital footprints, capture screen recordings, and meticulously document all findings related to assigned targets. They scour social media platforms, deep web forums, and the internet to unearth any additional information on their targets. Delving into encrypted networks and digital hideouts, they relentlessly pursue cybercriminals, gathering any digital evidence along the way. Their role also involves liaising with cybersecurity experts for containment and countermeasures, ensuring a coordinated effort to neutralize threats. As the most powerful branch, they issue directives to the rest of HMI.

Agents

edit

Recognizable by their white attire and marked by the Atomic Badge, HMI Investigators are experts in cyber forensics and counter-hacking. While equipped with tools and programs to trace and neutralize threats, direct confrontations with hackers are rare and left to specialized teams of digital enforcers.

Requirements

ATOMIC BADGE NOT REQUIRED; YOU CAN JUST PUT "HMI" IN YOUR USERNAME.

Prospective agents must possess the Atomic Badge and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of digital threats, hacker tactics, and online anonymity. This essential knowledge is crucial for effective investigation within HMI.

"The HMI Death Squad" [6]

edit

"TASKFORCE-12" is a HMI-owned squad full of members specially designated toward fighting against prominent doxxing threats. This group, is often referred to as "The HMI Death Squad." Founded on 7/21/2024, at the start of The Nexus Conflict. A lot of what they do isn't public, but I assure you, they are very powerful.

Once a member is dispatched into the death squad, they will undergo a combat readiness check to see if they're fit for any conflicts they will be dispatched into. If any member dies in action or has their account deleted, we always say our company motto:

In Angel's Arms They'll Be Carried Away.

edit

"TASKFORCE-12" is also very secretive, using many codenames. The members identities are not revealed, only their codename. Even some members aren't listed.

Wars

The Parawar 6/20/2024 - 7/20/2024. [7]

The Parawar:

edit

The Paralink War, now commonly referred to as the Parawar, is a striking example of how digital conflicts can escalate from seemingly trivial pranks to full-blown confrontations involving hacking, doxxing, and intense mistrust. The victory of Howler Monkeys Incorporated (HMI) over the Paralink War reveals the complexity of online interactions and the often blurry lines between humor, harassment, and hostility.

Genesis of the Conflict

edit

The roots of the Parawar can be traced back to a prank gone wrong. The Theta Development Group, a collective of Minecraft modders, initiated the conflict by griefing the main page of a wiki. This action, intended as a prank on their member Codeman, inadvertently triggered a chain of events that would escalate into a full-scale digital war. The griefing incident led to one of Theta's members being doxxed by Codeman, marking the beginning of hostilities.

Escalation and Misdirection

edit

During the conflict, HMI faced multiple attacks, including harassment targeted at Agent Cubic, who received disturbing images and racial slurs from an account named Toxichyp3r69onFn. In response, HMI became highly suspicious of any new entities approaching them. The Firestick TV Boys, a group offering help, were met with threats of doxxing from HMI, which in turn prompted the Firestick TV Boys to prepare for war.

A few days after this confrontation, the wiki was griefed, leading HMI to suspect the Firestick TV Boys were behind the attack. This suspicion was further fueled by the creation of Paralink, a group that fit the description of the Firestick TV Boys. Believing Paralink to be their new enemy, HMI launched a series of counterattacks, which were falsely attributed to Carnelian's ARG (Alternate Reality Game).

Alliances and Revelations

edit

Amidst the chaos, the Firestick TV Boys reached out to HMI, clarifying that they were not affiliated with Paralink. This revelation transformed them from suspected enemies to trusted allies of HMI. Another ghost hunting group, GHT, offered help and gained HMI's trust. However, the attacks continued, involving account hacking, threats, slur-calling, and doxxing, contributing to an atmosphere of paranoia and distrust.

The turning point came when Codeman hacked an account named DarkieTheCreator, uncovering crucial information that pointed to the true culprits behind the attacks: the Theta Development Group. This revelation was a game-changer, shifting the focus of the conflict back to its origin.

The Hallmark of the Parawar

edit

One of the most notable incidents in the Parawar was when DarkieTheCreator sent Codeman his real-life name, prompting Codeman to set his profile picture to an image of DarkieTheCreator's house. This act of digital intimidation highlighted the extreme measures both sides were willing to take.

Conclusion

edit

The conclusion of the Parawar has left HMI questioning the credibility of testimonies from various involved parties, particularly FloatyCheeze, whose account of events is now considered dubious. The Parawar stands as a testament to the volatile nature of online communities, where pranks can spiral into serious conflicts with real-world implications. As HMI celebrates their victory, the lessons learned from this digital war will undoubtedly influence their future interactions and strategies in the online realm.

The Aftermath

edit
  • Carnelian changed Paralink to Apparlite likely because he did not want to be associated with the name "Paralink" after the war ended.
  • The Firestick TV Boys went public and released their real name, BHL.
  • HMI started focusing more on hackers and doxxers in Gorilla Tag then ghosts and bots.
  • The Apparition Union was formed to be the NATO of Gorilla Tag, so if one person attacks a group in the Apparition Union, everyone helps the group/clan that was attacked.
  • GHT (Ghost Hunting Troops) and BHL (Bot Hunting Legion) were accepted into the Apparition Union.
  • Closely after, "TASKFORCE-12" was created.
