HOLLIE BENNETT

Hollie Bennett (born 2 May 1987)[1], is a British videogame industry professional, presenter and public relations executive. She is known for her work in video game communications, community management, and media presentation, particularly within the UK gaming industry. Bennett has held senior roles at major video game companies, including CD Projekt Red[2] and Square Enix, and has contributed to the promotion and communication strategies of several high-profile titles. She has also gained public recognition through her on-camera roles in digital media and online gaming content[2].

- Early career and community management -

Bennett began her career in the video game industry in the early 2010s, focusing on digital community engagement and player relations. Between 2013 and 2015, she worked as a community manager, Bennett was in charge of engaging with player communities and communicating updates between developers and audiences for titles like “Resogun“ (2013) and “Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition” (2014), and she received many acknowledgment credits on prominent PlayStation titles, including “Hohokum” (2014), “Bloodborne” (2015) and “The Order: 1886” (2015)[3]. 4 Her credits were listed as additional thanks and special thanks to Hollie Bennet, which are a reflection to her contribution in community facing aspects of game development and promotion.

In 2019, Bennett joined CD Projekt Red as head of communications for the UK and was there until 2021. In this role, she was responsible for overseeing public relations, press engagement, and marketing communications for the projects within the UK market. Her role was very important in the communication strategy for the release of “Cyberpunk 2077”, which was one of the most anticipated video games of its time[2].

As host and the main presenter of “Night city Wire”, a series of digital broadcast events that led up of the game’s launch, she introduced new game footage, trailers, and features, and also had interviews with important developers such as Paweł Sasko, Patrick Mils, and Miles Tost. Her show covered topics like mission design, world building, gameplay systems, and narrative elements. Bennett also presented many major announcements, like the debut of “The Gig” trailer and announcement of the anime project “Cyberpunk Edgerunners”, and she also led discussions on gameplay features.

Once “Cyberpunk 2077” was released, she was involved in communication efforts and bridging the gap between community concerns and updates including patches and future content, again proving her importance as a bridge between corporate communications and player participation.

Bennet joined Square Enix as Head of Public Relations in 2021, where she was in charge of communication strategies and press relations for the company’s titles in the UK and other markets. She was involved in managing many media campaigns and coordinating major franchises, especially those associated with long-running series such as Final Fantasy. In her role, she was the center of the company’s regional communications efforts[7][9].

In 2023, she became a cast member of Natural Six, a dungeon and dragon’s fifth-edition actual play series featuring professionals from the video game industry[10]. The series follows a group of character navigation in a fantasy world known as Reliquia, where they undertake missions connected to an organization called the Web[11].

In Natural Six, Bennett plays the character of Elowen Ellie Grënweard. She plays a huma fighter known for her distrust of magic, as well as her strong sense of independence and her loyalty to her friends. The character is both reserved and protective, with a story arc tied to personal motivation and group dynamics. The series can be watched on online platforms like YouTube and Twitch, which has gained popularity because of its collaborative storytelling and growing community[12]. Bennett has described the project as one of the first she helped develop from its earliest stages[9].

Bennett is known in the community because of her advocacy of Japanese video game culture, especially series like “Like a Dragon”, formerly called “Yakuza”, and her enthusiasm for the franchise has really been noted as an example of how industry professionals can connect authentically with fan communities.
